Psychophysiological response of military pilots in different combat flight maneuvers in a flight simulator

چکیده
Objective: To analyze the psychophysiological response during takeoff, landing, air-air attack and air-ground maneuvers. Methods: A total of 11 expert pilots (age=33.36 (5.37)) from Spanish Air Force participated in this cross-sectional study. Participants had to complete a flight simulator following missions: 1) takeoff; 2) Air-air attack; 3) Air-Ground attack, 4) Landing. The electroencephalographic activity (EEG) heart rate variability (HRV) were collected all these Results: Significant higher values theta (during attack) EEG power spectrum obtained when compared baseline. difference P3 scalp location was observed between landing takeoff maneuvers beta spectrum. Furthermore, significant lower HRV baseline values. Also, showed sympathetic maneuver. Conclusion: Takeoff, or performed produced changes autonomic modulation professional pilots. Beta modifications suggest that induced more attentional resources than takeoff. In same line, reduced These results should be considered training purposes.

Hypoxia and flight performance of military instructor pilots in a flight simulator.
INTRODUCTION Military aircrew and other operational personnel frequently perform their duties at altitudes posing a significant hypoxia risk, often with limited access to supplemental oxygen. Despite the significant risk hypoxia poses, there are few studies relating it to primary flight performance, which is the purpose of the present study. METHODS Objective, quantitative measures of aircraf...
متن کاملAutomated Intelligent Pilots for Combat Flight Simulation
TacAir-Soar is an intelligent, rule-based system that generates believable “human-like” behavior for large scale, distributed military simulations. The innovation of the application is primarily a matter of scale and integration. The system is capable of executing most of the airborne missions that the United States military flies in fixed-wing aircraft. It accomplishes this by integrating a wi...

The impact of environmental conditions as found in aircraft on pilots and flight attendants was investigated by the EU-project HEACE. Measurements of 6 long-haul rotations, three Vienna–Delhi (7-h flights) and three Vienna– Tokyo (12-h flights with a rest of 3 hours for the crew during flights), were investigated in cooperation with Austrian Airlines on board of aircraft of the Airbus type. Bes...

Experimentation in Learning Organizations: a Management Flight Simulator Approach Experimentation in Learning Organizations: a Management Flight Simulator Approach Experimentation in Learning Organizations: a Management Flight Simulator Approach
Managers' real life experiences will need to be supported by new learning tools, as external environments and internal dynamics of organizations become more complex. This need for simulated managerial expenence has come from a trend towards fewer hierarchical levels m organizauons. Managerial competency that was once achieved by progressing through the many layers needs to be obtamed through ot...
